Maryam Azarpira, Ph.D. graduate of civil engineering with a focus on water engineering and hydraulic structures was able to win the 1st place in 2023 Iranian Hydraulic Association’s thesis competitions. Her thesis titled "The Influence of Geometric and Hydraulic Parameters on the Flow Dynamics of Surface Vortexes in Vertical Whirlpools" was researched and carried out under the supervision of Doctor Amirreza Zerati and was supported by Iran's National Science Foundation (INSF).It is noteworthy that Ms. Azarpira has successfully published 6 articles in credible journals alongside 5 national and international conference papers from her Ph.D. thesis.
