A meeting was held with the chancellor of Amirkabir University of Technology in the presence of benefactors in the higher education sector. In this meeting, the issues, problems, and concerns of Amirkabir University were discussed in three areas: the renovation of the main auditorium, the construction and renovation of student dormitories, and the restoration of classrooms. The benefactors in the higher education sector promised their assistance and collaboration.
The chancellor of Amirkabir University of Technology emphasized the following:

Attracting 40 Young Elites in the Past Year / Four Main Areas of University Activities

The chancellor of Amirkabir University of Technology regarded the admission of elite and young individuals from both domestic and international universities as one of the university's most important programs. He mentioned that in the past year, 40 distinguished faculty members were recruited under this policy, with several more applications currently being reviewed.
According to the Public Relations Office of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Alireza Rahai mentioned during a meeting with benefactors in the higher education sector that the university has been active in the field of higher education for over 70 years. Currently, there are 18 faculties, 14 research centers, and 30 research institutes at Amirkabir University of Technology. Additionally, the university has four campuses, including Bandar Abbas, Mahshahr, Kish, and Garmsar, along with a science and technology park, part of which is located near the university on Vali Asr Street, with another part situated in Shahriyar, on the outskirts of Tehran.
He further clarified that some of the 18 faculties of Amirkabir University are related to sciences, such as physics and mathematics, while the remaining faculties are associated with technical and engineering fields. Since its establishment, when it began with six faculties, there has been a consistent effort to create programs that meet societal needs. In addition to launching similar programs like civil engineering and chemistry, unique fields like polymer engineering, marine engineering, and textile engineering have also been introduced. All of these faculties admit students at undergraduate through doctoral levels.
The chancellor of Amirkabir University of Technology highlighted that a significant portion of student admissions occurs at the graduate level, noting that out of about 14,000 students at the university, a large majority of new enrollments are in graduate programs. Annually, around 1,200 to 1,500 undergraduate students and over 2,500 graduate students are admitted.
Rahai also pointed out that since the 1980s, Amirkabir University of Technology has sought not only to focus on educational activities but also to implement large and strategic projects. As a result, research units and institutes were established, allowing them to employ individuals in research fields. In these centers, various disciplines converge, bringing together a diverse group of individuals with different research backgrounds.
Rahai mentioned that during a period in the country when large national projects were to be implemented, out of 40 national projects, 16 were carried out at Amirkabir University of Technology.

The chancellor of Amirkabir University of Technology stated that to develop technology-related activities, the establishment of growth centers was necessary. Fortunately, these centers have been established and have evolved into a Science and Technology Park, which includes two main buildings and two collaborative buildings shared with various industries. In fact, we have land in Shahriyar where a number of technology units are developed, and knowledge-based companies are located.
Rahai added that, as mentioned, there are four campuses actively operating at Amirkabir University of Technology. One of these campuses is the coastal campus in Bandar Abbas, established in 1986 due to the importance of developing marine activities. Good work is done at this center, where we have launched all marine-related fields, including coastal engineering, naval architecture, and ship structures, making it one of the few marine engineering faculties established in the country.
He pointed out that the second campus of Amirkabir University was launched in Mahshahr, focusing on petrochemical industries, while the remaining campuses are active in Kish and Garmsar. Some campuses operate at both undergraduate and graduate levels, while others, like the Kish campus, focus solely on graduate programs.
Rahai referred to the policies of Amirkabir University of Technology and noted that a general framework for the university's major activities has been defined across four main areas. One area focuses on marine activities, another on aerospace, and another on emerging technologies, which he believes are becoming prominent everywhere, part of which includes artificial intelligence.
He regarded artificial intelligence as a crucial necessity for the country's advancement, stating that in the faculties of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering, they have integrated three core areas of artificial intelligence, leading to the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Research Institute at Amirkabir University of Technology. Today, many organizations recognize the university as a hub for artificial intelligence, and all needs related to artificial intelligence are directed to our university; numerous private and governmental organizations collaborate with this part of the university.
According to him, he requests that experts in the field of artificial intelligence utilize the exceptional capabilities of their artificial intelligence unit. Furthermore, he indicated that actions will be taken by Amirkabir University in the realm of smartening the oil industry.
He stated that significant efforts are being made at Amirkabir University of Technology to attract young individuals with strong academic backgrounds, both graduates from domestic and foreign institutions. Over the past year, 40 individuals have been recruited, and several more applications are under review. Attracting young talents is one of the university’s priorities.
In conclusion, he emphasized that this year, Amirkabir University of Technology has been recognized as the energy hub of the country, and facilities related to various energy sources, including clean and fossil energy, will be added to the university.

Upgrade of Dormitories from Level 5 to Level 3
The professor at Amirkabir University of Technology announced the upgrade of the university's dormitories from level 5 to level 3.
Dr. Hossein Asgarian Abiyaneh mentioned in a meeting with benefactors that, with their collaboration and support from the Welfare Fund, two sets of dormitories were successfully upgraded from level 5 to level 3 over the past year.
He indicated that these dormitories are located on Saeed Street, adding that some dormitories were also upgraded from level 3 to level 2.
