The head of the Science and Technology Park at Amirkabir University of Technology highlighted the most important vision for the park until 2035, stating: "Our plan is to transform the Science and Technology Park into a hub of innovation by leveraging the unique capacities of the leading industrial universities in the country."
According to the public relations office of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Seyyed Farhang Fasihei, during a seminar introducing the engineering disciplines at the university, emphasized the main goal of establishing this park: "The aim of this initiative is to convert innovations and scientific achievements into technologies and products needed by the country and to shape knowledge-based companies."
He mentioned that the park consists of three sections: entrepreneurship and innovation centers, growth, and guidance for knowledge-based companies. It promotes a culture of entrepreneurship within the university and strives to identify talents, capture brilliant ideas, and provide both material and moral support to facilitate their transformation into knowledge-based companies and the successful commercialization of their products and services.
He also provided a report on the key activities of the university's Science and Technology Park, stating: "Our impact on the development of technology and consequently the growth of a knowledge-based economy includes creating the necessary conditions to achieve the university's strategic goals in realizing the innovation chain and wealth creation from scientific and research achievements, supporting specialized job creation (relying on the university's human capital), establishing and professionally operating small and medium-sized technology companies and R&D units at national and international levels, facilitating networking and constructive interaction among member units, Amirkabir University, and other players in the innovation ecosystem, and enabling the growth of innovative technology companies while providing high-value services, including creating the necessary infrastructure for the establishment and market development of technological products."
He further elaborated on the main activities of the Amir Kabir Research and Technology Fund, stating: "Issuing various guarantees, including participation in tenders and auctions, advance payments, performance guarantees, and commitments; providing loans and facilities to individuals and legal entities active in the technology and knowledge-based sectors through exchange contracts (prototype development, pre-industrial production, industrial production, working capital, installment sales leasing, and manufacturing contracts); financial brokerage for national institutions and executive agencies; venture capital; creating joint resources for parties and leveraging resources to provide facilities are among the key activities of this fund."
