Special services: Faculty Members Students Graduates

Achieving the 15th place internationally and the 1st place nationally for the Textile Faculty in the GRAS assessment in 2023.

The head of the Textile Engineering Faculty at Amirkabir University of Technology announced that over 140 industrial contracts have been signed since the introduction of research data in the university's system by faculty members, aimed at enhancing collaboration between academia and industry.
According to the university's public relations office, Dr. Mohammad Amani stated that last year, this faculty signed cooperation agreements with 13 factories as part of the cooperative education program (co-op). In this program, 10 students from the faculty were actively engaged from June 2021 to September 2024.
Dr. Amani mentioned that there are 28 faculty members in the Textile Engineering department, including 9 professors, 9 associate professors, 9 assistant professors, and one lecturer. He noted that the faculty offers four undergraduate specializations: "Fibers," "Apparel," "Textile Chemistry," and "Technology."
He reported that there are about 350 active undergraduate students and 142 master's students across six specializations, as well as 58 doctoral students in two fields. He added that students and professors from this faculty have presented approximately 3,200 research papers at national and international conferences and published more than 2,000 articles in reputable scientific journals, along with registering nearly 280 inventions.
Amani also highlighted that the Textile Engineering faculty has 30 active laboratories, workshops, and research centers. He added that two scientific hubs have been established: "Modern Identifications in the Textile Industry" led by Dr. Haghighat Kish, and "Interactive Fiber Structures and Environmental Improvement" spearheaded by Dr. Masoud Latifi, both faculty members.
Speaking about the academic standing of the Textile Engineering faculty at Amirkabir University, Amani stated that it ranks first among textile engineering faculties in the country. Achieving the 15th place in the international GRAS ranking for Textile Science and Engineering in 2023 is another notable achievement for the faculty.
A total of 42 universities from the Islamic Republic of Iran are included in this ranking, with Amirkabir University and Tehran University acquiring the best positions. In the field of "Textile Science and Engineering," Amirkabir University ranks 15th globally, following 11 universities from China, one from the United States, one from Saudi Arabia, and one from Pakistan.
