The Faculty of Management has seen a 50-fold increase in research and educational contracts over the past two years. According to the public relations office of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Mahdi Majidpour stated that the establishment of an independent MBA group in 1387 and its transformation into a faculty in 1389 marked the inception of this faculty. He mentioned that our goal is to move this faculty to a new building by the end of this year.
Dr. Majidpour pointed out the volume of contracts for continuing education at this faculty and noted that in 1400, our educational contracts were practically zero, but by 1403, this figure has risen to around 7 billion tomans. The head of the Faculty of Management, Science, and Technology added that an analysis of the volume of industrial contracts shows that in 1400, there were contracts worth 500 million tomans, which have surged to 27 billion tomans in 1403, including contracts and agreements.
He mentioned that the number of students in this faculty studying fields like Master's in Technology and Innovation Management, Finance, Marketing, Master's in Philosophy of Science, Master's in Information Technology Engineering, Doctorate in Technology Management, and Master's in Energy Economics is 318.
Dr. Majidpour noted that one of the key areas in the faculty's development plan is to define new, strategic, interdisciplinary programs that align with the country's priority needs. He added that over the past two years, the Doctorate in Technology Management, Doctorate in Marine Industries Management, and Master's in Energy Economics have recently been launched.
The head of the Faculty of Management, Science, and Technology also highlighted that developing businesses through establishing industry liaison offices in strategic areas and creating a marine business development center and a policy-making and economics study center are other developmental initiatives of this faculty.
In terms of international collaboration, the faculty recently organized a joint course on entrepreneurship and future skills with the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, creating a new experience within the faculty. In the past, it also held programs like a DBA with Maastricht University, an energy management course with Delft University, and an MBA with Erasmus University, all valuable initiatives in the international realm. Additionally, plans to launch a Doctorate in Business Management and attract international (non-Iranian) students are part of the faculty's future international agenda.
Dr. Majidpour stated that membership in extensive domestic and international networks, the ability to provide diverse management and business consulting services, conducting revenue-generating courses for executives, and having a young faculty with graduates from prominent international universities are the strengths of this faculty.
He emphasized the aim of achieving a position of scientific authority and becoming an effective institution for addressing pressing issues and needs in the country, along with playing an international role, especially in regional areas. He continued that the faculty's strategic plan includes missions like "producing globally credible science that addresses the country's issues," "training knowledgeable and skilled workforce concerned with solving national problems," "making an impact in addressing national issues," and providing "consultation to the private sector and government entities."
Dr. Majidpour added that playing a role in solving the country's management issues is another vision for this faculty. He noted that this faculty boasts 14 faculty members and 30 affiliated professors in three groups: Business Management, Economics and Finance, and Science and Technology Studies.
He also highlighted the faculty's intention to collaborate and interact closely with other faculties at the university. In this context, introducing courses on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and innovation at the undergraduate level, Business Management at the master's level, Philosophy of Science at both undergraduate and master's levels, and Engineering Ethics at the master's level are part of the joint educational programs.
