A professor of Amirkabir University of Technology was selected as the National Young Researcher in the Technical and Engineering Group at the 26th Festival Honoring Researchers, Technologists, and Innovators.

According to the Publicity section of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Pouria Haji Karimi, Assistant Professor at Amirkabir University of Technology in the field of Civil Engineering – Transportation and Pavement Engineering, was selected as the National Young Researcher in the Technical and Engineering Group at the 26th Festival Honoring Researchers, Technologists, and Innovators.

He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation and Pavement Engineering and is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Advanced Pavement Laboratory at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology.

He received his diploma in Mathematics and Physics from the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET) of Qazvin Province and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering – Civil and bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering specialization from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Tehran.

Haji Karimi continued his PhD in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation and Pavement Engineering at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology.

The title of his PhD dissertation was “Numerical Modeling of Crack Propagation in Modified Asphalt Mixtures Based on Viscoelasticity Theory,” which was carried out under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Fereydoon Moghaddas Nejad and Dr. Ali Khodaei, faculty members of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of this university.

His honors include being named Outstanding Educational Professor of Amirkabir University of Technology in Ordibehesht 1404, receiving support from the National Elites Foundation for research activities of young assistant professors (Dr. Kazemi Ashtiani Award) in Dey 1400, receiving the Best English Book of Amirkabir University of Technology during Research and Technology Week in Azar 1400, receiving support from the National Elites Foundation for recruitment in scientific institutions (Martyr Dr. Shahriari Award) in Aban 1399, being selected as a Top Graduate by the National Elites Foundation in Bahman 1398, being awarded Best PhD Project of Amirkabir University of Technology during Research and Technology Week in Azar 1398, and being selected as Top Young Researcher at the 11th National Conference and Exhibition on Bitumen, Asphalt, and Machinery in 1397.

Haji Karimi has published 79 international scientific articles indexed in Scopus, 21 national research articles, 5 applied research projects, and 3 published books. Registering one domestic invention is among his other achievements.

The Assistant Professor of Amirkabir University of Technology has also successfully published 3 books in English with reputable international publishers Elsevier and Springer in the fields of pavement materials and viscoelasticity theory.
