 Course Goals and Objectives

The purpose of this laboratory is to get acquainted with the performance of measuring devices, voltage sources, electrical quantities such as voltage, current and basic elements of electrical circuits. Students also gain the necessary skills to test and troubleshoot electrical circuits by simulating and implementing experiments designed based on the lessons of the Electrical Circuits 1.

Course Topics

1- Practical knowledge of electrical elements, DC and AC power supplies and multimeter
2- Familiarity with the work and application of the oscilloscope
3. Measurement error
4- Introduction to Orcad simulation software and time domain (transient mode) and frequency domain analysis
5. Transient response of RC and RL circuits
6- Transient response of series and parallel RLC circuits
7. Frequency response of RC and RL circuits
8. Frequency response of RLC circuits
9. Measuring the internal impedance of a source
10- Frequency response of digital voltmeter
