Member universities of the UT5 Consortium, comprising Iran’s five leading industrial universities, have signed a joint memorandum of understanding to establish reciprocal access to library services, facilities, and resources for their faculty members, researchers, and students. This initiative aims to strengthen scientific and research collaboration among the universities and follows the expansion of inter-university engagement after the Imposed War.According to the Public Relations Office of Amirkabir University of Technology, the UT5 member universities formalized this reciprocal library cooperation agreement to enhance academic collaboration and facilitate researchers and students’ access to one another’s library resources and services.
Under this agreement, a structured framework has been established to enable users from member universities to access the library facilities, services, and document centers of other UT5 universities.
In accordance with the provisions of this memorandum, users from member universities may, subject to the internal regulations of each university, access a range of services including library study halls, internet access within study areas, on‑site use of the host university’s information and citation databases, reference and research assistance services, borrowing of library materials, and consultation of printed collections, reference books, periodicals, and other print resources within the library.
The agreement covers faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and students at the doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate levels. At Sharif University of Technology, however, these services will be available exclusively to doctoral students.
The UT5 Consortium includes Isfahan University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, and the Iran University of Science and Technology.
The official commencement date of the agreement and detailed procedures for accessing services at partner university libraries will be announced by the respective universities in due course.
