Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) is set to host the 13th round of the international robotics and artificial intelligence competition, titled “FiraCup Iran Open 2026.” The event, scheduled to take place from July 17 to July 24 (26 Tir to 2 Mordad), is designed to identify emerging talent, advance cutting-edge technologies, and strengthen the vital links between academia and industry.
According to the Public Relations Office of AUT, the university will host the 13th International Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition, titled ‘FiraCup Iran Open 2026,’ from July 17 to July 24. This event is dedicated to advancing frontier technologies and promoting a culture of innovation within the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.
The event is organized in partnership with the Iran National Robotics Committee (FIRA), the Office of Cultural and Student Affairs, and the Office of Scientific Societies at Amirkabir University of Technology. It is specifically designed to convene elite students, researchers, and robotics enthusiasts at both the school and university levels.
FiraCup 2026 will feature various leagues adhering to international standards, providing a competitive platform for participants to demonstrate their expertise in the design, construction, and implementation of advanced AI algorithms within intelligent robotic systems.
As artificial intelligence becomes a primary driver of global industrial transformation, hosting such high-caliber events plays a crucial role in elevating the nation’s scientific and technological standing on the international stage. Beyond being a technical competition, this event serves as a vital platform for knowledge exchange between the younger generation and established robotics professionals.
This year’s competition is structured into three primary pillars:• The School Category: Aimed at identifying emerging talent and guiding students toward Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.• The University Category: Focused on advanced research and the development of intelligent systems at the academic level.• The Commercialization Category: Designed to bridge the gap between technological innovations, industry leaders, investors, and the commercial market.
Organizers emphasized that the ultimate objective extends beyond mere competition; the goal is to establish a sustainable ecosystem for the growth of robotics startups and to fortify the nation’s artificial intelligence infrastructure.
