Two faculty members from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), Dr. Elaheh Kowsari, Professor in the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Mojtaba Mirsalim, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, have been recognized with the prestigious Springer Nature Editors of Distinction Awards. The honor acknowledges editors who have made outstanding contributions to enhancing the scientific quality of scholarly journals, managing rigorous peer-review processes, supporting researchers, and upholding research integrity.

Dr. Kowsari, a faculty member at AUT since 2009, received the award for the second consecutive year, following her 2025 recognition. She has published more than 400 scientific works, holds 10 patents, serves on the editorial boards of several international journals, and has consistently been ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists. In 2026, she was also recognized as a Distinguished National Professor.
Dr. Mirsalim, a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, is an internationally recognized scholar in power engineering. He has authored more than 310 scientific publications, seven books, and holds 23 patents, including two registered in the United States. A Life Senior Member of IEEE and Senior Editor of leading international journals, he has remained among the world’s top 1% most-cited scientists for the past five years. He is also the founder and director of AUT’s Electrical Machines and Transformers Research Laboratory (EMTRL).
The recognition reflects the international academic standing of AUT’s faculty members and their continued contributions to scholarly publishing, research excellence, and the advancement of global scientific collaboration.
