Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) has climbed nine places to rank 12th among laboratory complexes nationwide and second among university laboratory complexes, according to the preliminary results of the 12th Performance Evaluation of Centers Affiliated with Iran’s National Laboratory Network for the Iranian calendar year 1404 (2025–2026).
According to AUT’s Public Relations Office, the performance of 803 laboratory complexes, comprising 1,203 laboratories across the country, was assessed in the 12th round of the evaluation. Based on the preliminary results, AUT improved its position by nine places compared with the previous round, securing 12th place among all laboratory complexes nationwide.
The university also ranked second among university laboratory complexes in the country. AUT attributes this achievement to the efforts of its laboratories and specialists in raising technical standards, improving the quality of services provided to researchers, and optimizing laboratory processes.
A number of AUT’s laboratories and research facilities contributed to this result, including the Simorgh National Supercomputer; the Central Laboratory; the Instrumental Analysis Laboratory of the Department of Chemical Engineering; the laboratory complex of the Department of Textile Engineering; the X-ray Diffraction (XRD) Laboratory and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) facility of the Department of Mining Engineering; the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; the laboratory complex of the Department of Aerospace Engineering; the High-Performance Fibers Laboratory of the Department of Textile Engineering; the laboratory complex of the Department of Petroleum Engineering; and the Central Laboratory of the Mahshahr Campus.
Iran’s National Laboratory Network (LabsNet) conducts annual performance evaluations of its member centers to increase efficiency, improve service quality, and foster constructive competition among laboratories.
The evaluations aim to measure the performance of laboratory complexes and identify their capabilities in providing specialized services to academics, researchers, and industry professionals.
