Introduction:
The biophotonics laboratory was established in 2018 at Biomedical engineering department of Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). In this laboratory, Researchers focus on the use of light-based technologies in the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Our goal is to combine recent advances in the fields of laser technology, microscopic imaging, biomaterials and nanotechnology to research the following:

 
 

• Design and preparation of optical systems for the study of tissue and organ function and early detection of tissue degeneration and diseases
• Study and manipulation of molecular, cellular and tissue biological systems
• Treatment of cancer with radiation (radiotherapy) and drug design based on the results of basic laboratory research
• Micro/ Nano light-sensitive smart carriers for targeted and demand-based drug delivery
• Theranostics (Smart Nanomaterials for treatment and simultaneous imaging)
• Combination of Optical and Microfluidic Techniques in Biomedical Engineering Applications
