Introduction:
Nano Biosensors Laboratory was established in 2006. The main areas of activity include knowledge development, localization and application of analytical methods for the identification and measurement of analytes using elements and biomaterials and micro-material. These methods can help in the research of unknown biological and medical sciences as well as the mechanism of some diseases and disorders, in diagnosing and treatment of diseases and their complications and in identifying the causes and underlying causes as well as in other related sciences. Activities such as pharmacy, advanced drug delivery systems and the identification of new drugs and evaluation of their biological activity. The design of biosensors in various fields of biological sciences, medicine has expanded dramatically over the past two decades. In recent years, the sensitivity of measurement methods has increased dramatically with the design of Nano-biosensors. Biosensors are very accurate, sensitive and proprietary measurement systems and the existence of specific bio receptors is due to the unique characteristics of these measurement systems. In fact, the basis for identifying and measuring compounds in these systems is the specific binding of the analyte measured to the sensor by bio receptors. Many applications in medicine, environmental analysis and chemical industries require methods to sense small molecules. Our sense of smell and taste does just that, and the immune system recognizes millions of different molecules. Identification of small molecules is the specialty of biomolecules, so they pose a new and exciting way to build specific sensors. There are two basic components to this. Identifier element and methods for calling when the identifier element finds its purpose. Often the identifier element is not affected by the biotechnology source. The main problem in this task is to design a suitable intermediate to a large readout device.  Antibodies are widely used as biosensors. Antibodies are the leading biosensors in nature, which is why the development of diagnostic tests using antibodies is one of the most successful fields in biotechnology. Perhaps the most familiar example is a simple test used to determine a blood group. Glucose biosensors are one of the most successful biosensors on the market. Patients with diabetes require conventional methods to monitor their glucose levels. Implantable and non-invasive sensors are under development, but currently the most widely available biosensor is a handheld biosensor analyzing a drop of blood.

 





The main activity of this laboratory is research in the field of glucose sensor. Some Projects in the Biosensor Lab:
1- Modeling and fabrication of non-invasive nano-biosensors based on glucose oxidase sensor for use in medical diagnostics
2. Construction and characterization of enzymatic hydrogels for use in biological diagnostics
3. Design and manufacture of enzymatic detection microelectrodes
4- Optimizing the performance of electrochemical biosensors using continuous production system and determining the best combination of different strip variables
Research Areas:
  • Design of non-invasive glucose sensors for use in diabetic patients
  • Design of immuno-sensors and nano-immunosensors for the measurement of analytes in biologic fluid
  • Development of enzymatic biosensors and their applications in clinical, toxicological and pharmacological fields.
  • Investigation and optimization of various lipid fixation methods of proteins such as antibodies and enzymes as well as intermediates, which can be used in enzymatic and non-enzymatic screening of printed electrodes and biosensors based.
  • Development of optical and electrochemical biosensors using nanotechnology
  • Design of Biosensor Enzymatic Nano biosensors for Measurement of Analytics in Biological Fluids
  • Designing smart biosensors for cancer treatment
