Dean of Department of Marine Engineering: Department of Marine Engineering & the Industry and Placing Many Graduates in the Job Market

Stating that department of Marine Engineering of Amirkabir University of Technology enjoys 35 years of experience, Dr. Mehdi Iranmanesh said, “Currently there are 58 PhD, 66 master’s, and 137 bachelor’s students studying in this university. The chair of department of Marine Engineering highlighted: “most faulty members of this department have industrial contracts and in general this department has more than 10 industrial contracts with various state and private sector companies”. He also added, “26,452 articles have been published by faculty members of this department including 19,686 ISI articles, 3051 foreign creditable articles, 4,269 research papers, 421 review papers, and 3700 conference proceedings. Moreover, 2,614 books have been published by lecturers of this very department.”He pointed out, “Ports and Maritime Organization, shipbuilding factories, and private companies in shipbuilding domain can utilize capabilities of graduates of department of Marine Engineering of Amirkabir University of Technology. In a single shipbuilding factory nearly 37 professions work; therefore, there are numerous occupations and jobs found in this realm.”
He also added, “Now National Iranian Oil Company delegates building oil platforms to domestic companies which is quite an opportunity for our countries’ universities and their graduates. The department has launched an innovation center in Bandar Abbas where perfect research projects are being carried out.”
