Master of Construction Engineering in Marine Industry

The master's degree in construction engineering in the marine industry is one of the interdisciplinary disciplines that can be effective in increasing productivity and technology growth. Welding has a special place in the field of construction engineering in the marine industry, and students are more familiar with topics related to welding, including how to design joints, welding metallurgy, welding inspection, welding defects, corrosion in welding and the like. Therefore, graduates of this field have the ability to play a role in their future career, wherever the name of welding, choice of welding process, choice of welding materials, design of a welding joint or welding inspection is mentioned. Offshore structures, drilling rigs, lined pipes, tanks, light ships, etc. are examples of the areas of work of these people. Considering this issue and considering the inevitability of using welding in many industries, it can be understood that one of the positive features of the field of manufacturing in the marine industry for graduates is the possibility of working in all industrial cities of the country.

Master of Corrosion Engineering and Material Protection

Corrosion is the degradation of materials due to electrochemical reactions in the environment. Corrosion of materials, especially metals, affects all industries, and engineers in this field are always trying to improve existing methods to deal with the harmful effects of this phenomenon or find new ways to do so. Significant costs are paid annually to compensate for this devastating phenomenon. These damages often include replacement of worn parts, work stoppage, fire and explosion, contamination of production materials, etc. Since the extent of corrosion penetration in industries is very wide, it seems that familiarity with the principles and foundations of the corrosion process as well as general methods to control this phenomenon is essential for all engineers. Graduates of corrosion engineering and materials protection gain skills in the following areas:
- Modification and improvement of the properties of alloys used in industry in terms of corrosion.
- Protection of metals and alloys in used environments (inhibitors).
- Cathodic and anodic protection, especially in the case of underground pipes and offshore installations.
- Application of various non-metallic coatings in industries.
- Preparation of corrosion reducing materials, detergents, plating materials, coatings and improving their quality.
Graduates of this field can work in shipbuilding and wharf industries and ports, aviation industries, power plants, petrochemical industries, etc.
