Amirkabir University of Technology and the Central Iranian Oil Company signed a research contract to survey the causes and geochemical origin of the increase in hydrogen sulfide in gas reservoirs in southern Iran and provide executive solutions to reduce it. This contract was signed for two years and is to be implemented in the department of Petroleum Engineering of Amirkabir University of Technology.
It is worth mentioning that Moscow State University and Aachen University are cooperating with Amirkabir University of Technology as a foreign consultant in the implementation of this project.
With the implementation of this project, Amirkabir University of Technology, as the first specialized scientific and laboratory center in the field of dealing with the acidity of reservoirs in the country will play an important role in the development of this type of reservoirs.
The head of the research team of this project is Dr. Ahmad Reza Rabbani, the Professor of AUT’s Department of Petroleum Engineering.
