(Department)  Biomedical Engineering         (Division)      Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering

(Level and Major)   BSc; Core Course

Course Title                Physiology

Number of Credits       3             Prerequisite Cellular and Molecular Biology

Course Description:
Human physiology is the study of the body’s processes, also known as functions. It is the branch of biology that aims to understand the mechanisms of living things, from the basis of cell function at the ionic and molecular level to the integrated behavior of the whole body and the influence of the external environment. This course introduces the function of body systems such as blood circulation, respiration, nerves, etc. and it will provide the foundation to prepare the student for engineering design tailored to the natural function of the body and gaining practical experience in the future.

Course Goals and Objectives:
Recognition and familiarity with the physiology of the human body for application in various fields in biomedical engineering

Course Topics:
  1. Introduction
  2. Cell and its function
  3. Heart
  4. Blood
  5. Cardiovascular system
  6. Respiratory system
  7. Digestive system
  8. Renal and urinary system
