Efforts to Meet the Needs of Industry and Society

“The New Technologies Research Institute is trying to meet the needs of industry and society.” Dr. Mahnaz Shamshirsaz, the head of the New Technologies Research Institute, Amirkabir University of Technology, referring to the signing of 9 industrial contracts during the last two years in this research institute said.
She stated that this research institute has been active in this university since 1994 under the name of Automation and Robotics Research Center. In 1998, the Council of the Development of Higher Education, changed the name of the center to Research Institute of New Technologies of Amirkabir University of Technology, henceforth the activity of this research institute began.
Currently, this research institute is consisted up of four research groups: (1) Robotics and Automation, (2) Mechatronics, (3) Nanotechnology and Microtechnology and (4) Advanced Materials. Also, this research institute has seven full-time faculty members and more than 125 graduate students, and numerous co-working colleges.
"The faculty members of the research institute have registered more than 30 inventions at the national level. During the years 2011 to 2020, the faculty members of this institute published 348 ISI articles." She said.
"The Research Institute of New Technologies has signed 9 industrial contracts in the last 2-years and a total of 17 industrial contracts are currently active in this research institute, some of which are related to the previous years. It must be mentioned that a total of 69 industrial contracts have been signed at this research institute, so far." She added.
