The president of Amirkabir University of Technology announced the signing of a contract with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to design and build the second satellite of the university, he said:
According to the agreement, a one-meter precision satellite is to be designed and built by researchers at the university and its initial credits being considered.
AUT Public Relations reports: Dr. Seyed Ahmad Motamedi, referring to the experience of designing and building a satellite for Amirkabir University of Technology, said: "The performance of our previous satellite was very good. Although the satellite reached the desired orbital height, it unfortunately failed to put the satellite at the required speed.”
Motamedi said: On the same day of the satellite launch, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology emphasized the construction of another satellite at the university. In the scenario proposed for this satellite, the issue was the use of new technologies and the achievement of a resolution of one meter with the negotiations with the Minister of Communications, thus, according to the ministry's plans to develop space technologies, this scenario was approved.
The president of Amirkabir University of Technology said that designing and manufacturing satellites with one-meter accuracy, using the latest technologies, would enhance the satellite and technology maturity level.
Motamedi described the first phase of the project as the implementation of conceptual design and four areas of satellite technology development: The satellite based on this contract is a one-meter precision satellite with the primary mission of imaging. He mentioned the satellite's orbit about 500 to 600 kilometers.
