Manufacturing Hydrogels for Medical Industry & Industrial Wastewater Treatment
Sara Taraashi, an Amirkabir University of Technology PhD student and manager of this research project which was implemented in the form of a doctoral dissertation under the guidance of Dr. Hossein Nazkadast from the department of Polymer Engineering referring to the use of hydrogel synthesis with double network structure as an innovative method in this project said: in preparing the desired hydrogels, carrageenans were used as a natural temperature-sensitive polymer to form a physical network and acrylic polymers were used to form a chemical network.

Possibility of Increasing Biological Lifespan of Heart Valves
In order to treat heart disease and study chemically-stabilized pericardial tissues to build biological stent valves, researchers at AUT have made it possible to increase the lifespan of biological heart valves. Aysaa Rasooli, an Amirkabir University of Technology graduate and the project manager, said: "in this study, histological analysis was performed to examine the collagen structure of various tissues."

22nd Kharazmi Youth Festival: Achieving Third Place in Applied Research
Yahya Choupani, Amirkabir University of Technology PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, finished third in applied research at the 22nd Kharazmi Youth Festival. His advisors for this event were Dr. Mohammad-Reza Raazfar and Dr. Mohsen Khajeh-Zadeh,The selected design that won 1st place was called "automated finishing machine for hip implants".

Amirkabir University of Technology researcher Matin Vatani, and project manager of "Improving Design, Simulation & Fabrication of an Improved Linear Reluctance Switch Motor", said: "In this project, we attempted to make using linear electric motors economical by offering new solutions. This design can be used in the printing industry, including high-width printers/plotters, as well as 3D printers (as cartridge actuators).

Dormitory Repair and Reconstruction
The project of repairing and reconstructing the dormitory of Martyr Abdolhosseyn Najjarian at the Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Seddighi (Head of the Student Affairs Organization), Dr. Motiee (Head of the Student Welfare Fund of the Ministry of Science), Dr. Motamedi (Chancellor of the Amirkabir University of Technology) and a group of university benefactors. About 200 female graduate students of AUT live in this dormitory complex, which will increase by 30% upon full reconstruction and repair.

Amirkabir University of Technology and Central Iranian Oil Company Signed a Research Contract
Amirkabir University of Technology and the Central Iranian Oil Company signed a research contract to survey the causes and geochemical origin of the increase in hydrogen sulfide in gas reservoirs in southern Iran and provide executive solutions to reduce it. This contract was signed for two years and is to be implemented in the department of Petroleum Engineering of Amirkabir University of Technology.
