Treating Water in Oil Fields by AUT Researchers
Nasim Zare, a graduate of Amirkabir University of Technology and the executer of “application of membrane bioreactors in treating water of Iran’s oil fields using prokaryotic consortium” project said, “A wide range of salinity level has been globally reported in produced water from oil fields and most oil fields in Iran have a high salinity level.”

Current Injection Electrodes Produced Using Nano-Technology
Researchers of the department of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy of Amirkabir University of Technology added activated nan-carbon to the electrodes coated by catalyst oxides to enhance electrochemical performance and lifetime of the electrodes and propose a suitable alternative for oxide anodes used in production of chlorine for water treatment.

Amirhussein Husseinalizadeh Khorasani, graduate of Amirkabir University of Technology explained his project titled “Study of Removing Petroleum Pollutants from Underground Waters Using Permeable Reactant Barriers” and said: “Considering the fact that underground waters of Tehran Refinery are polluted by petroleum material and the pollution might extend to agricultural waters in southern Tehran, this study was conducted to prevent the pollution and enhance the quality of water in this area.

Seyed Abbas Nurian Najafabadi, PhD Graduate of Textile Industries talked about his project “completion of cellulosic wound dressing by synthesis of metal-peptide porous nanostructures to be used for drug release” and said: this study has been conducted for 2 years under supervision of Dr. Hemati Nejad (professor of Amirkabir University of Technology) and Professor Jorge Navarro (from Granada University, Spain).

Biosensors Applied in Medical and Health Sectors Developed by AUT Researchers
Ali Sedighi, PhD graduate of Nanotechnology from Amirkabir University of Technology and researcher of the project for “production of non-enzymatic flexible wearable glucose biosensors” explained that diabetes is a metabolic disorder and a global epidemic. The key to diagnosing and controlling diabetes is monitoring the glucose level, and the glucose level must be measured frequently.

Amirkabir University of Technology Ranked 477 by QS, and 17 by International Referrals
Referring to the 17th Edition of World Universities Ranking published by QS, Dr. Jafar Mehrad, founder of Regional Information Center for Science and Technology said that in 2020 QS rankings, five universities from Islamic Republic of Iran, including Amirkabir University of Technology, have been introduced amongst the top 1000 universities of the world.
