
Amirkabir University of Technology professor with more than 300 ISI-indexed journal articles, and one of the top 10 nanotechnology researchers in Iran, was introduced as a National Top Researcher at the Festival of Technologists and Innovators.
According to the Publicity section of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Majid Montazer, a full professor at the Faculty of Textile Engineering, was introduced as one of the country’s top researchers at this festival.
Dr. Montazer began his academic studies with a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, earned his Master’s degree in Textile Engineering (Textile Chemistry) from Amirkabir University of Technology, and completed his PhD in Textile Engineering (Textile Chemistry) at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
His academic record includes the publication of 313 international scientific articles indexed in Scopus, 26 national scientific papers, completion of nine research projects, registration of one international patent and 63 national patents, an h-index of 63 (Scopus) and 70 (Google Scholar), and more than 17,000 citations.
In addition, Dr. Montazer has published 268 papers in international and national conferences, authored two books in Persian and two international books, and currently has one international book under publication.
He has been ranked among the top 1% and 2% of the world’s most cited scientists over several consecutive years and has also been listed among the top 10 nanotechnology researchers in Iran in multiple periods.
Dr. Montazer has held several executive and academic positions, including Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Head of Department, Member of the Specialized Promotion Committee, Member of the University Promotion Committee, and Director of the University Nanotechnology Research Institute.
Dr. Majid Montazer is a distinguished figure in Textile Engineering and Nano-Finishing in Iran and internationally. His research focuses on multifunctional textile applications, including antimicrobial, photocatalytic, drug delivery, and protective textiles.
He is actively involved in advanced textiles and biomedical applications, with a research pathway that integrates synthetic materials and bio-based materials—such as microbial cellulose and plant extracts—toward the development of multifunctional and smart textiles.
