Meysam Ebrahiminezhad Rafsanjani, a doctoral student at the Amirkabir University of Technology and the executor of the "selection of the optimal construction method to reduce carbon footprint in the buildings of Tehran" project, said: "the industry of construction is among the largest energy consumers and greenhouse gas emitters. Iran is among the top 10 carbon producers across the globe. This research indicated that adopting eco-friendly approaches does not necessarily result in increased expenses"
He added: "a decision-making software is being developed in this regard and we are expanding its decision-making criteria, specifically in the environmental dimension. The findings of this research regarding eco-friendly construction methods could be appended to the international LEED standard as a chapter on reducing energy consumption”
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Iqbal Shakeri and Dr. Abdullah are the supervisors of the project and Dr. Fazel Zarandi, Amirkabir University of Technology faculty member, is its advising professor.
