History
Amirkabir University of Technology's Concrete and Building Materials Laboratory, ready to provide concrete and laboratory tests to meet the need for small and large-scale construction projects, in a variety of laboratory and workshop experiments, Technical Service announces.
Tests and services to industry
A series of materials tests, including cement and aggregates, water, additives and pozzolans, as well as concrete and concrete mixing design experiments are as follows:
Cement physical and mechanical tests
Normal Concentration Determination - Cement Retention Time - Cement Mortar Compressive and Tensile and Bending Strength determination - Cement Softness Determination (Blaine).
Aggregates physical and chemical tests
Aggregation - moisture content and water absorption rate Determination, specific gravity, abrasion resistance (Los Angeles), determination of alkali reaction potential of aggregates - Determination of impact and crushing resistance - Determination of elongation and torsion.
Concrete Test Set - Overview
Preparation of concrete mixing design, determination of compressive strength of concrete, determination of tensile strength of concrete (half-life), determination of slab and fresh concrete air content and fresh concrete sampling at hard concrete core and non-destructive concrete tests, including: ultrasonic, Schmidt hammer, Determination of carbonation penetration depth, corrosion potential of reinforcement and determination of chloride and sulfate content and concrete modulus of elasticity.
Other important activities of this laboratory include research on specialty concrete, northern structural and non-structural lightweight concrete, heavy concrete, self-compacting concrete, Roller-compacted concrete, cementitious synthetic stones and the effects of additives and pozzolans on concrete.
Other important activities of this laboratory have been the design and implementation of national concrete competitions at universities across the country and its holding of five courses in collaboration with the laboratory at Amirkabir University and two courses at other universities.
The laboratory also offers its services in concrete research and research projects in the form of master's and doctoral dissertations.
