Course Title                Anatomy

Number of Credits       3             Prerequisite

Course Description:
Anatomy includes foundational concepts related to the structure of the human body. Emphasis will be placed on, but not limited to, the hierarchy of structural organization, medical terminology, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems as well as system relationships. It will provide the foundation to prepare the student for engineering design tailored to the natural structure of the body and gaining practical experience in the future.

Course Goals and Objectives:
Recognition and Familiarity with the major anatomical structures of the human body for application in various fields in biomedical engineering

Course Topics:
1.         Introduction
2.         Bones and joints
3.         Muscles
4.         Cardiovascular system
5.         Respiratory system
6.         Digestive system
7.         Genitourinary system
8.         Endocrine system
9.         Visual and Auditory System
10.       Nervous system
11.       Senses

The course aims to:
At the end of the anatomy course, the student is expected to be able to:
•           Be familiar with anatomical terms such as movements, surfaces, rotations, etc. and be able to use them correctly.
•           Know the name and location of bones and muscles well.
•           Have familiarity with the parts of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, gastrointestinal system, urogenital system, glandular system, visual and auditory systems, nervous system and senses.
