 Education and research in polymer and color engineering was founded at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnique) in 1974. This dynamic activity based on the sustainable needs of the country to corresponding graduates led to the establishment of the first country’s faculty dealing with polymer and color education and research in 1989 at Amirkabir University of Technology.Right now, 26 faculty members and 24 staff members deal with education, classical research and industrial based research in three groups: Polymerization industries (to make polymers and resins), polymer industries (to process and apply polymers) and color industries (to formulate and apply colors) training students in bachelor, master and PhD levels. Accordingly, 400 bachelors, 180 master and 90 PhD students are pursuing their education and research curriculum in four disciplines of polymer processing, polymerization, color and nanotechnology. Based on the fast spread of the academic and industrial based centers dealing with polymerization, polymer and color manipulation and applications all around the country and abroad, the faculty graduates find academic and industrial positions in the country and all around the globe.
